1. Lemon juice

Take a glass of warm water and add a tablespoon of lemon juice to it with a pinch of salt. Drink it on an empty stomach every morning. Salt functions to facilitate the smooth passage of stools.

2. Amla powder

Amla is a great home remedy to cure constipation. It works well in improving digestion as it is a natural laxative. Have a teaspoon of amla powder with a glass of lukewarm water. Take this before having your breakfast or before going to bed at night.

3. Olive oil

Olive oil helps in stimulating the digestive system while improving the bowel movements. It is good and effective home remedy. Mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of olive oil with and have it regular basis in order to get relief from constipation.

4. Raisins

Raisins are rich in fiber and they also act as laxatives. Soak some raisins in water at the night and have them the next morning on empty stomach. Raisins are useful during pregnancy as they don’t have any side effects.

5. Castor oil

Castor oil is one of the most effective remedies for constipation in adults. Add a tablespoon of castor oil to your glass of warm milk. Drink it before going to bed at night. You can also swallow 1-2 tsp. of castor oil empty stomach in the morning, followed by plenty of water.

6. Blackstrap molasses

Blackstrap molasses are the easiest method that cure constipation. They are rich in certain minerals, especially magnesium, therefore, gives relief from constipation.

Mix 1-2 teaspoons of blackstrap molasses in a glass of lukewarm water and drink.

7. Coffee

Sipping a cup of coffee every day can give you relief from chronic constipation. Coffee contains caffeine which is a natural stimulant for the digestive system. Have a cup of your favorite coffee but in limited amount only.

8. Guavas

Guava seeds are also effective in treating constipation as they have high fiber content. Eat 1-2 guavas a day to treat your constipation. It is a fast home remedy that gives relief instantly.

9. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is highly laxative and gives instant relief from bad constipation.

mix 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe gel and in fruit juice. Drink this mixture in order to get rid of constipation. Aloe vera should be used carefully as it can also cause diarrhea.

10. Spinach

Spinach helps in cleaning up the intestinal passage and is a great remedy for constipation. Drink spinach juice (100ml) mixed with equal parts of water. Drink it 2 times a day. Or, you can eat it either cooked or raw. It is great for overall health.

11. Baking soda

Baking soda is a bicarbonate and gives relief from stomach ache, therefore, is good for treating constipation. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda in one-fourth cup of warm water. Drink this mixture.

Mix a spoonful of isabgol in warm water or you can mix it in milk also and drink it. If having with milk then take it at night time before sleep.

13. Dandelion tea

Well, dandelions are a terrible annoying weed, but with your constipation problem, you might view them differently. Dandelion is a natural laxative and a good detoxifying agent, therefore, provides relief from constipation. Have a cup of dandelion tea to keep away the problem of constipation.

14. Beans

Beans are a good source of fibers and help to get rid of the problem of constipation. You can have garbanzo beans, black beans, lima beans, navy beans, and red beans. Cook beans properly, to prevent gassiness. 

15. Epsom salt

Epsom salt is effective in treating constipation. The salt draws water from its surroundings, softens stool and makes it easier to pass. Table salt can be useful in terms of drawing out water, but it lacks the magnesium that Epsom has. the magnesium present in the salt promotes contraction of the bowel muscles, which also makes passing easier. Take 1 cup of water and add 2 tsp of Epsom salt to it. Stir well and drink it.

Have at least 1 cup of yogurt every day to keep your intestinal tract clean. It also helps you get rid of hard stools. The probiotics present in the yogurt aids in improving the digestive system, helping the good bacteria present in our body be strong and plentiful to eradicate problems of constipation.

17. Fenugreek

The seeds of fenugreek are useful in treating issues like bloating, indigestion, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome as they encourage smooth muscle movement in the digestive tract. All you need to do is soak some fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Drink this water, the next morning. It will help ease up the problem of constipation.

18. Bael fruit

Bael fruit is an excellent laxative and is considered as one of the best home remedies for curing constipation. it cleans up the intestine completely. the regular usage of bael fruit will eradicate all your digestion problems. 60 grams of bael fruit is sufficient for an adult.
