15 Natural Remedies to Get Relief from Gout Pain!

Gout happens when uric acid levels increase in blood, resulting in the build-up of uric acid crystals in or around the joints, which leads to inflammation and pain in the joints. 1. Ginger

Ginger is a great remedy for people suffering from gout. Add ginger root in your tea and drink it, many times a day. You can also Take a raw piece of ginger root and cook it with other vegetables. Or, make a fine paste of ginger by mixing water in it. Apply this paste on the affected area.

2. Mustard

Mustard helps in soothing the nerves. Take equal proportion of mustard powder and whole wheat powder. Mix them well and make a thick paste by adding water to it. Apply this paste on the affected area before going to bed. Leave it overnight.

The application of this paste will help in soothing the pain and aching muscles.

3. Honey

Honey is a good option for gout. Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of organic honey. Mix them well and take it twice a day. Repeat this for few weeks.

4. Charcoal powder

Take a half cup of charcoal powder and make a thick and fine paste by adding water in it. Fill your bathtub with warm water and add charcoal paste in it. Now, soak your body in charcoal water for some time. This bath will provide you relief from pain.

Take this bath thrice a week. Alternatively, you can also intake activated charcoal. Take in small doses only.

5. Epsom salt

The presence of alkaline mineral magnesium in Epsom salt helps to treat gout. Mix 2 cups of Epsom salt it in your bath tub, filled with warm water. Soak yourself in this warm water. Epsom salt helps in soothing the aching muscles and reduces the gout pain. Take this bath, once or twice a week.

6. Apple cider vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar helps in relieving from the problem of gout. Mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Drink this daily.

7. Lemon juice

Take a lemon and squeeze it in a glass of water. Mix half tablespoon of baking soda in it. Mix well and let it rest for few seconds. Drink this water at least thrice a day.

8. Banana

9. Cherry

Cherries, whether sweet or sour, have been known to be greatly effective in the treatment of gout and lowering uric acid levels due to their high antioxidant properties. Cherries have anthocyanin that helps to reduce the gout pain, also remove swelling and redness. Eat 15 to 20 cherries daily to get relief from pain. Alternatively, you can drink the juice of cherry.

10. Cold water

Please never apply ice directly on the aching and swelled area. It makes your situation, even more, worse. To apply ice, wrap it in a towel or a bag and then, apply for 10 to 15 minutes in intervals. This will help in reducing swelling, the coldness will numb the nerves and relief you from the pain for some time. You can take cold water. Gently apply it on the affected area.

11. French beans
