Tips to remember

  • Use lukewarm water for cleansing your oily skin, as it dissolves oil more effectively than cold water. It washes away the dirt and impurities deposited on the skin and unclog the skin pores.
  • Do regular cleaning. Cleansing your face twice a day to keep it clean. Don’t overdo the cleaning as it can trigger oil production from the sebaceous glands and also over dry skin. Use a gel-based cleanser that contains salicylic acid, citric acid, and glycolic acid. They help in reducing dead skin cells.
  • Don’t scrub too much. Exfoliate the skin only 2-3 times a week. The skin produces natural oils to store moisture, keep it hydrated, and fight irritations. Overdoing scrubbing takes away from the skin its natural oils and moisture, making it dry.
  • Do not keep touching your face with your hands, as it transfers additional oil, dirt, and germs to your face. Your scalp also produces oils, so keep hairs back and away from your face during summer to control excessive oiliness of the scalp.
