1. Cucumber, beet and carrot juice

Reishi mushrooms were mainly used to treat hypertension and asthmatic problems but they can treat allergies too. Consuming it at least once in a day can effectively treat various types of allergies.

5. Apple cider vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar helps you out with various problems and can help with allergies too. For allergies that cause nausea – drinking the mixture of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with one tablespoon of honey in one glass of water, can really help you out. You need to drink this mixture once a day, most preferably at night before you go to bed. For allergies that cause chest and nasal congestion- boil apple cider vinegar mixed with water in equal quantities. Inhale its fumes by leaning over the pan.

6. Bananas

Well, this remedy is quite tasty. You might never know how your tasty bananas can help you from allergies. So if you are suffering from asthma, digestive disorders or skin rashes, constantly then get rid of these allergies by eating just one or two bananas every day. This home remedy helps people who are allergic to certain foods.

But, for those whose immune system is very sensitive, they should avoid this remedy.

7. Honey

Honey, from skin problems to allergies, has been used as a home remedy since ancient times. For people suffering from pollen or other outdoor allergies, take one or two tbsp. of honey mixed in a cup of water. Drink it 2-3 times a day. It can be very beneficial. When your body gets honey in small doses every day, it strengthens the body to fight against allergies. The body becomes less sensitive to allergies.

8. Chamomile

Chamomile is used to treat allergies related to cold. It can be used in various ways depending upon the nature of the allergy. If you are having irritation in the throat, you can have a chamomile tea. You can have your tea either warm or cold – both are effective. You can also mix one tsp. of honey into it.

If you are suffering from watery and puffy eyes, all you need to do is soak some cotton balls in boiled chamomile tea (after cooling down).  put those cotton balls over your eyes. You will feel relief from the irritation.

9. Turmeric

Allergies that cause irritation in the throat, remedies of turmeric spice can be very beneficial. Remember your mother gives you turmeric milk whenever you get hurt, same you can have in the case of allergies also. Mix half tsp. of turmeric powder into a warm glass of milk. Drink this mixture two times daily for effective results.

10. Nettle

Nettle contains naturally occurring antihistamine that makes it a very useful remedy for allergies. It is a recent discovery. You can get nettle leaves from stores. You can also have nettle-peppermint tea also. These both are highly effective. Place the nettle and peppermint leaves in a mug and add boiling water. Cover it and steep for 10-15 minutes, strain. You can add honey for taste. Drink 2 times daily.

11. Saline solution

Well, this remedy is useful in treating upper respiratory allergies. The saline solution is helpful in removing irritants that are responsible for causing inflammation, congestion, and other symptoms. You can get saline solutions from your local medicine store. You can also prepare it at home by mixing one tsp. of salt and a pinch of baking soda in a cup of warm water. Pour one or two drops of the solution into one nostril at a time.

You can also treat allergies by breathing the steam. When you give steam to your face, it not only clears the nasal passages of mucus but also soothes the irritated throat.  Drop a towel over your head and lean carefully over a bowl filled with boiled water. Breathe gently while steaming your face. Do it for five to ten minutes.

Precautions

  • Minimize extra clutter which augments dust and dirt, like old books, dried flowers, etc.
  • Regular cleaning of the bed, pillow covers, bed sheets, and blankets is essential to avoid microbes.
  • Wear a face mask to avoid direct exposure to pollens, dust and dirt.
  • Use an air conditioner and dehumidifiers in the car, in your bedroom to filters the fresh air keeping the dirt away. Air conditioners curb down the unnecessary moisture, which enhances the growth of germs.
  • Avoid smoking.
  • Try to keep your pets away from you. They are also the source of a number of allergies. These furry animals can cause allergy with their dander resulting in constant sneezing, redness and rashes on the skin. Remember to wash your hands, every time, you touch them.
  • Try to avoid sunlight. Do not step out of the house without wearing a sunscreen and glasses.
  • Check that your vacuum cleaners are equipped with HEPA filters. they are very efficient in trapping the microbes fast. Try to install HEPA filters in the entire house as they are generally more effective.
